Hotel "Borjomi-Likani" under the management of "Partnership Fund" currently operates at 65% capacity and hosts guests from Central Asia and Europe along with Georgian vacationers.
Koba Abuladze, director of "Borjomi-Likani" spoke to BM.GE about the occupancy of the hotel and the tourism trends for the summer season 2023. According to his assessment, this year the number of tourists from Arab countries has decreased in general, although the activity from other destinations in the second quarter is similar to the same period last year.
"The load of the Borjomi-Likani hotel is normal. For today, the hotel is operating at 65% capacity. Bookings in August are similar to last year, although we expect this number to increase.
The only problem we have is that the tourist flow from the Gulf countries has decreased a lot. According to our information, they opened tourist lines in many countries compared to last year, which generally reduced the number of tourists from the Gulf countries in the country. Guests from the Gulf countries account for about 17-18% of our workload, the number of visitors from the Central Asian countries - Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, as well as Israel, and the tourist flows from the EU countries have also increased. Georgian citizens account for 25-35% of hotel occupancy," Koba Abuladze explained.
The head of the hotel notes that the cost of staying in a standard room in Hotel Borjomi-Likani for 2 people, including breakfast, amounts to USD 218 (equivalent in the national currency). The price is up by USD 20 compared to the last year's price. The hotel offers a 20% discount to citizens of Georgia for non-cash payments.
