Georgia’s transport and warehousing sector continues to grow, but its contribution to GDP remains stable at around 6-7%, below the levels seen in developed logistics hubs, according to a Galt & Taggart report.
The sector’s GDP share stood at 6.1% in 2025, following 6.3% in 2024 and ranging between 6% and 6.6% in previous years. At the same time, sector turnover is expanding, reaching an estimated GEL 11.4 billion in 2025, up 9% from GEL 10.5 billion a year earlier. Tbilisi accounts for the largest share of turnover at 66%, followed by Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti (15%) and Adjara (9%).
Warehouse capacity in Tbilisi is also growing rapidly. Total warehouse supply increased from 740,000 sq.m. in 2014 to 1.26 million sq.m. in 2025 and is expected to reach 1.65 million sq.m. by 2027. Samgori will account for the largest share, with around 829,000 sq.m. of warehouse space forecast.
Rising demand has pushed warehouse rental prices higher, with average monthly rent in Tbilisi increasing from $2.6 per sq.m. in 2019 to $6.3 per sq.m. in 2025. Despite expansion, Galt & Taggart notes that warehouse availability per capita in Tbilisi remains below European city levels.
