The Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (CBRT) on Thursday kept its one-week repo rate, also known as the policy rate, unchanged at 9%, in accordance with the market expectations in the first meeting of the year.
The lender also hold the rate unchanged in its last meeting of 2022, after signaled that the rate cut cycle has come to an end.
At its November meeting, the bank cut the rate by 150 basis points to 9%, thus having lowered the key rate by 500 basis points, or 5 percentage points, since August.
