“Turkish businessmen find it difficult to enter the Georgia”, - Osman Turan, chairman of Georgian and Turkish Businessmen Association told BM.GE.
According to Turan, small problems that arose during the pandemic disrupt daily relationships. Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia is aware of the problems, as he has met the business associations late last week.
"Turkey is Georgia 's largest trading partner and many business processes exist between those countries. There are representatives of all sectors, including large and medium-sized businesses. Consequently, there are many transactions and problems comparing to other countries. During the recent pandemic it became more apparent that there were large rows of incoming trailers. There are delays in the testing of drivers.
The main problem is that the entry of business representatives has become more difficult since March. First you have to fill out the application, then you have to wait for 10 working days. A businessman needs a plan, the environment must be predictable. Sometime, two days are enough for business deals, while businessman have to stay in the country for 8 days. It is illogical”, said Osman Turan.
