Turkish Cargo, the air cargo transportation operator of the national flag carrier Turkish Airlines, claimed no. 3 spot in world's top air cargo carriers in May, the company said on Monday, citing data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
Turkish Cargo increased its cargo tonnage, measured in freight ton kilometers, or FTKs – by 17% month-on-month, while its market share grew to 5.4% in April.
Turkish Airlines chairman Ahmet Bolat said: "We, as Turkish Cargo, are continuing to reinforce our leading position in the industry in line with our target to grow and improve continuously. We see these achievements as a commitment to our future targets and work harder to add further value to the air cargo industry.”
Turkish Cargo reaches over 340 destinations – including 104 direct cargo destinations – in 132 countries with a fleet of 422 aircraft, 24 of which are dedicated freighters.
