A Turkish military aircraft crashed in the Signagi Municipality, approximately five kilometres from Georgia’s state border on November 11.

The Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) reports, citing preliminary information, that the aircraft was operating a flight from Azerbaijan to Türkiye.

According to the Interior Ministry, an investigation into the incident is underway under Article 275, Part 4 of the Criminal Code, which concerns violation of air transport traffic safety or operational regulations resulting in loss of human life.

“The Ministry of Internal Affairs will provide the public with detailed information about the incident in stages,” the MIA statement reads.

Türkiye’s Ministry of Defence has confirmed that a Turkish C-130 aircraft crashed in Georgia. According to information released, search and rescue operations have commenced in coordination with the Georgian and Azerbaijani authorities.
