TV Pirveli founder Vato Tsereteli has announced the creation of a public advisory council as part of the broadcaster’s planned development and structural changes. He said the move aims to strengthen transparency, public involvement and modern media standards.
Tsereteli will chair the council, which brings together representatives from the media, culture and public sectors. Members include Irakli Melashvili, Dodo Shonava, Giorgi Mshvenieradze, Gia Khukhashvili, Davit Dzidzikashvili, Irakli Apakidze, Zaal Udumashvili, Inga Grigolia and Tamar Jincharadze.
According to Tsereteli, the council will help generate new ideas, support the channel’s development and increase public participation in its activities. At its first meeting, the council was presented with journalist Levan Jorbenadze as a candidate for the channel’s director.
Tsereteli said he believes the changes will create new opportunities and mark a new stage in TV Pirveli’s development. Until now, he has served as the channel’s director and held 100% of its ownership.
