Ukraine International Airlines performed 2,039 scheduled flights in January-June 2021, which was 49% less than in the same period of 2020 and 85% less than in the first half of 2019, the company's press service has told Ukrinform.
According to the report, UIA performed 2,108 charter flights in the first half of 2021, compared to 266 in the same period of 2020 and 1,172 in the same period of 2019.
During January-June 2021, the airline transported 1,088,928 passengers, which was 8% more than in the same period of 2020 and 71% less than in the first half of 2019. Of this number, 375,346 passengers used the airline's scheduled flights (917,359 in 2020 and 3,384,536 in 2019), and 713,564 used charter flights (83,470 in 2020 and 433,888 in 2019).
In addition, in the first six months of this year, UIA carried 1,937 tonnes of cargo and mail, which was 45% less than in January-June 2020 and 82% less than in the same period of 2019. In the first half of 2021, the airline returned more than $23 million to passengers. In total, from April 2020 to June 2021, the airline returned more than $44 million to passengers.
