Davit Chkheidze, the founder and director of Megasport, which represents The North Face, Timberland, Diesel and other world brands, calls on the government to intensify the vaccination process. Chkheidze notes that the current severe epidemic situation in Adjara puts businesses in a precarious situation, as they are waiting for new restrictions, which is the hardest for the sector.

Chkheidze calls on the relevant persons to give the right to receive a number of services only to the vaccinated citizens.

"I consider the maximum promotion of vaccination to be the most correct decision, there is no alternative to it. Vaccination does not kill us, we avoid a course of severe treatment and it is necessary to bring it to the public.

I welcome the trend that many European countries are going through, there has been a serious talk that certain services will only be available to vaccinated citizens. I understand that this will lead to a reduction in the number, however in the long run it will have a positive effect”, - Chkeidze notes.

According to him, if Georgia needs tourist, then the government must sort out the relevant procedural issues.

“We know that many tourists are coming from Russia with falsified documents, so we have to do something to prevent it. There is a sever condition in Adjara, which will lead us to the same results, which have been observed last year. Why cannot we learn from the mistakes? When we talk about Europe, they think and will not allow the same thing for a second time.

Being in an uncertain situation is hard for us, we do not know what will happen tomorrow, whether to make orders or not, shall we be locked up or not. At this time, preparations are being made for the winter season and we have no guarantee of anything”, Chkheidze said.
