The National Food Agency of Georgia has fined and suspended 15 food facilities in the Black Sea coastline region of Adjara after inspections revealed “critical inconsistency” with safety, sanitary and other regulations.
The body said on Wednesday it had identified the violations during ongoing inspections in the region for the summer season, which involved checking up to 210 food businesses over two weeks.
It also added the suspended facilities would not be allowed to resume their work until the inconsistencies were eliminated.
Sanitary conditions, adherence to required temperatures, food safety and labelling requirements are being inspected during the monitoring of the venues in the region, the Agency also noted.
