U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Richard Verma to visit Armenia

The U.S. Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources Richard Verma, will visit Yerevan on an official visit from June 17 to 19. During his visit, he will participate in the Armenia-U.S. conference on democracy in local governance and meet with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan.

“This visit reflects our commitment to further strengthening bilateral ties with the Armenian people,” stated the U.S. Embassy in Armenia. Verma will lead a delegation consisting of public representatives and officials from the states of California, Kansas, Michigan, Montana, and Pennsylvania.

The delegation will be accompanied by the Special Representative for Subnational Diplomacy, Nina Hachigian, who heads the recently established State Department subnational diplomatic team, as well as the Special Representative for Commercial and Business Affairs, Sara Morgenthau. They plan to meet with representatives of the public and private sectors and civil society.
