The U.S. Embassy in Georgia is hosting Jonathan Askonas, a representative (Senior Advisor) from the U.S. Department of State.
The purpose of his visit is to discuss how Georgia can support the “Trump International Peace and Prosperity Route” (TRIPP). This transport corridor is the result of a peace summit held on August 8 between Armenia and Azerbaijan, mediated by the United States.
This morning, Dr. Askonas visited the *Sadakhlo Motor Vehicle* customs checkpoint, the construction and equipment of which was made possible largely with U.S. support. During his visit, he will also meet with representatives of Georgia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Government Administration, and international financial institutions.
