The United States will provide Armenia with $11.5 million worth of humanitarian aid for families from Nagorno-Karabakh, U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Administrator Samantha Power said today.
She told reporters during a visit to Syunik region that these funds will be used both for the purchase of food and for social and psychological support.
She said she met with displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh in Syunik who do not know where their family members are. "This support will also be used to support family reunification efforts," the USAID director emphasized.
Power pointed out that a large number of children without parents have arrived in Armenia. "And it is very important that they find their loved ones as soon as possible," Power said.
