Vaping will be banned in Kazakhstan, said Amanzhan Zhamalov, Majilis deputy.
“We will amend the Health Code to prohibit the sale and use of vapes in Kazakhstan, the so-called electronic devices, in which the smoking mixture is liquid, gases and all kinds of flavorings. They will be completely prohibited for sale and use. Therefore, we generally removed these concepts from the tax code,” he said.
He also said that the deputies decided to introduce an excise tax on smoking sticks.
“The main dispute arose about the excise taxes on smoking mixtures - sticks. In terms of effects on the body, nicotine content and other parameters, according to the WHO, are no less harmful than regular cigarettes. The deputies decided to impose excises on these sticks in the amount of 70% of excise taxes on ordinary cigarettes,” he added, KazTag reports.
