“We are optimistic that the quality of this year’s grape harvest will be good,” Shalva Kurdadze, founder of Papris Valley Winery, said on BMGTV’s Business Morning.

The grape harvest has already begun in Kakheti. Kurdadze said the winery starts harvesting earlier than usual because Akhasheni is a relatively hot wine-growing area. Harvesting at the winery’s vineyards has been underway for three days and is progressing well.

“We have a good harvest and are satisfied with both the quality and volume. We bring grapes from our own vineyards directly to our winery, so we are optimistic that this year’s harvest will also be of good quality,” Kurdadze said.

Pafris Veli is a certified organic winery located near Akhasheni in Kakheti. The company began planting vineyards in 2004 and currently cultivates 9.3 hectares of Saperavi and Rkatsiteli. It mainly produces organic qvevri wines, which are exported to more than 20 countries across Europe, Asia and North America.
