Donkey farm "Virlandia" has resumed the production of handmade soaps made from donkey milk. The founder of the company, Tornike Tepnadze, spoke about this with BM.GE. According to him, "Virlandia" offers the cosmetic market a different, premium-class product, which is also used for a medicinal purpose.
"In the Georgian market, handmade soaps with natural ingredients are already available on the market, however, the difference is that our soaps are made on the basis of donkey milk, which is actively used in the world for the production of premium-class cosmetics, including soap, lotion, shower gel and etc.
The product contains various useful vitamins, minerals, proteins, and microelements, which are actively used to make soap. It has an anti-allergic, antimicrobial effect and is used against various skin diseases," explains Tornike Tepnadze.
According to the founder, "Virlandia" makes 9 types of soap with different natural additives: coconut, cocoa, olive oils, essential oils and plants.
Cosmetic soap is sold on "Virlandia" Facebook page and the price of one piece is 20 GEL. As the company explained to BM.GE, the demand for the product is very high.
"Virlandia", the first donkey farm in Georgia, was established in 2016, in the village of Gamarjveba. Today, the farm has about 80 donkeys, and the daily yield of milk is 20 liters during the season. The founder notes that the price of one liter of milk has not changed since the day of establishment and its cost amounts to 60 GEL.
