The National Bank of Georgia published a report about the current tendencies of resident commercial banks' loan portfolios as of October 2024.
According to the document, the volume of loans issued in October 2024 increased by 692.03 million GEL or 1.17% compared to the previous month (exchange rate effect excluded, increased by 1.3%) and constituted 60.06 billion GEL by the end of October 2024. The volume of loans in national currency increased by 768.59 million GEL (2.31%) and the volume of loans in foreign currency decreased by 76.56 million GEL or by 0.29% in the same period (exchange rate effect excluded, increased by 0.14%).
By the end of October 2024, the total volume of national currency-denominated loans to resident legal entities issued by commercial banks amounted to 10.38 billion GEL (3.53% more; exchange rate effect excluded volume of lending in foreign currency increased by 0.46%).
During October 2024, the volume of lending to the resident household sector increased by 1.25% or 380.13 million GEL, and constituted 30.85 billion GEL by the end of October 2024.
Larization ratio for total loans constituted 56.73% by the end of October 2024 and increased by 0.633 percentage points compared to the end of September 2024.
