A total of 147,973 TEUs were processed in Georgian Sea Ports in 1Q2023, which was a 46% increase compared to the same period of 2022. Poti Sea Port processed 52,475 TEUs in March, exceeding 51,272 TEUs as of 2019.

An increase of 31% has been observed in the direction of general cargo compared to the previous year. General cargo in Batumi and Poti Sea Ports amounted to 1,229,548 tons in the first three months of 2023, of which 107,176 tons were processed in Batumi Sea Port, while 115,589 tons - in Poti.

The amount of oil and oil products in the Ports of Georgia has decreased by 39% to 1,190,301 tons, which is due to the factor of the Baku-Supsa pipeline, therefore, the Supsa oil terminal has not received any ships since April 2022 (during this period, only 2 ships were processed in February 2023).

Compared to the previous year, a decline of 23% was observed in terms of bulk cargo, the amount of which in Poti and Batumi Ports amounted to 917,706 tons. However, despite the general decrease, the volume of bulk cargo in Batumi was maintained (Batumi - 325,368 tons) and increased by 0.5% compared to last year. It should be noted that in 2022, there was a 112% increase in bulk cargo compared to the previous year.
