Agroline walnut factory operating in Gurjaani, Kakheti region is increasing its capacity. In the current year, the company will increase walnut production from 300 to 600 tons, and in 4 years, it is planned to increase the capacity from 1000 to 1200 tons. During this period, the company will invest a total of USD 3 million to increase its production capacity.

Accoridng to Giorgi Meskhidze, the founder of "Agroline", walnut production farm in Chumlaki village of Gurjaani was launched in 2020 and manages walnut orchards of Chandler variety located on 230 ha. The goal of the founders was to export walnuts from the beginning. However, as Giorgi Meskhidze notes, last year walnuts were fully sold in the local market.

"In 2022, the yield was 360 tons, and we completely processed it, although we fully sold it on the local market. The company could not export walnuts because due to the global crisis, the prices in the local market were better. Last year, along with the low price of walnuts on the international market, the cost of transportation was increased, so the sale of walnuts on the local market was more acceptable," explained Meskhidze.

According to him, in 2020 "Agroline" exported a small amount to several countries, and in the future, sales outside the country's borders will remain the main goal of the company. This year, the farm expects a harvest of 500-600 tons of walnuts, which will be exported if there are favorable conditions.
