According to Geostat, watermelon prices in Georgia dropped by 16% in July 2025 compared to last year.
Meanwhile, prices of other seasonal fruits rose: peaches (+9.5%), grapes (+9.6%), plums (+9.5%), and pears (+15%), while apple prices remained unchanged.
Despite strong local production, Georgia imported 9,560 tons of watermelons worth USD 2.8 million in the first half of 2025, mainly from Turkey, Iran, and Azerbaijan.
Exports remained modest at 728 tons, valued at USD 275,000.
