Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has dismissed Ara Mkrtchyan, Deputy Minister of Environment, who had held the position since June 2024. Before this role, Mkrtchyan served as Deputy Minister of Justice.
The decision was made in accordance with the law "On Public Service" and marks yet another personnel change within the country’s top leadership. In recent days, key officials have been dismissed, including the Minister of Territorial Administration, the Interior Minister, and the Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council.
The extensive reshuffling began following Prime Minister Pashinyan’s critical address on November 14, during which he expressed dissatisfaction with the performance of law enforcement and judicial bodies. On November 18, Pashinyan confirmed that he personally initiated the resignations of senior officials.
Amid this wave of changes, Civil Contract party MP Narek Zeynalyan also resigned from his parliamentary mandate.
