The family winery of Kochlamazashvili and agro-tourism farm "Itabani", located in Kakheti, is planning to expand the wine production and diversity of the services this year.
As the founder of "Itabani", Rati Kochlamazashvili told BM.GE, expansion is planned both in terms of the types of wine and its volumes.
Family winery and agrotourism farm appeared on the market in 2017. The facility combines a vineyard, fruit orchards, a cellar, a tasting area and a terrace in one space.
"We currently produce 3 types of Kvevari wine - Rkatsiteli, Kisi and Saperavi. We are glad that all three wines of the 2022 harvest won medals at various competitions (one silver and two bronze), which increases brand awareness and is reflected in sales growth. According to today's data, we bottle 5000 bottles of wine per year.
We are going to increase the sales of wine both in the local market and we want to enter the export markets as well. We are going to add those wines that are typical for Kakheti. In addition, we want to put one or two European species (not in the pitcher). At the same time, we are testing separated wines and are going to bottle them (eg: Rkatsiteli & Kisi). We will refrain from naming other details", said Kochlamazashvili.
According to him, the facility has different spaces. Up to 25 people can be hosted in the indoor space, and 100 people can be accommodated in the outdoor space at the same time.
It should be noted that 3 people are employed in the facility at this stage, however, depending on the need, up to 3 more people are added.
The Kochlamazashvili family cellar "Itabani" was officially opened in 2023.
