We can't handle the snow - "Oda Skiji"

გურია

"We can't handle the snow, we're relying on God... It would be good if rescue services come" - declares Darejan Berdzenishvili, the founder of the agritourism facility "Oda Skiji," located in the village of Khedistavi, Chokhatauri district in Guria.

She spoke about the complications caused by heavy snowfall in the village and noted that it continues to snow and the population cannot manage to clear snow from houses with their own efforts as it is not safe. Darejan Berdzenishvili notes that until now they have been cut off from the outside world and didn't even know that emergency hotlines had been activated during the state of emergency.

"There is up to 2 meters of snow. We haven't had electricity for three days. Gas is available. The road was cleared last night, but vehicle movement is restricted. We are here by God's grace and whatever nature does. It's still snowing.

Last night after the tractor passed through and cleared the road as much as possible, we were able to get to the village center to charge our phones. With the help of neighbors, we are managing to deliver products and check on those who are alone at home. It would be good if rescue services could come, because we can't handle clearing snow from houses by ourselves. We didn't even know that hotlines had been activated because we had no electricity and our phones were switched off. Today we went to the center and charged them with those who have generators", - notes the founder of the agritourism facility.
