Real estate development company VR Holding cannot understand why their company's founder, businessman Noshiko Namoradze, should be on the list of individuals to be sanctioned. The list was sent to future US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
The list was published by Radio Liberty late last week, which includes representatives of the private sector close to the Georgian Dream.
In response to BMG's question, VR Holding stated that the company has full confidence in Noshiko Namoradze, and the sanctions tool is an attempt to punish him for his different political affiliations.
"Let's start with the fact that we do not understand why the founder of our company, Noshiko Namoradze, is on the list of people to be sanctioned. However, it is their handwriting, in the name of democracy they want to punish a person for different political views, which is unthinkable and unacceptable to us. They continued to work with the same methods as they worked until 2012.
Second - VR Holding has full confidence in Noshiko Namoradze and does not agree with any opinion according to which the government of any country may take any action against him, even sanctions. And finally, our founder will always be firm in his position, which no sanctions, intimidation, or other lever can change. He was not intimidated in 2008, and now it is ridiculous to talk about it," the company's press service said in a response to BMG's question.
