Tekla Chincharauli, co-founder of hotel "Sulphoni", located in Shatili declares that bookings have already started, but they expect special activity from the second half of June. Chincharauli explains that hotel occupancy in the mountainous region depends on the weather, which often changes.
"After the winter, the road to Khevsureti is already restored, so we are slowly starting to prepare for the season and waiting for guests. It is very difficult to make forecasts in advance, we depend on the weather. However, we expect that this year will be a better season compared to the last one. Last year, sometimes there was a problem with the weather, sometimes there was a problem with the road, and all this caused a shortage of people", says Chincharauli.
When evaluating the summer season of 2023, the co-founder of "Sulphoni" notes that in the past years there was a lack of foreign tourists in Khevsureti, and this year they are expected to be active again.
"Last year, the lack of foreign tourists was noticeable, we mostly had Georgian guests. But, we expect that foreign tourists' activity will resume this year.
As for the countries, tourists mainly came actively from the following countries: Germany, Poland, Czech Republic and France, as well as from Israel", - says Tekla Chincharauli.
Speaking about the challenges, the founder of the hotel notes that some problems are solved including electricity supply.
"All the communications that are carried out in Khevsureti are working smoothly and we are ready to welcome tourists", says the co-founder of "Sulphoni".
