The newly opened wine bar "Do" in Gudauri talks about the winter season with BM.GE. The bar opened two weeks ago and offers customers signature cocktails, sandwiches and wine.
According to the founder of the bar, Irina Kobakhidze, despite the fact that the season is good, the active workload comes mainly from Friday to Sunday, as the bar is less busy on the weekdays.
"I think the lower number of customers is caused by small tourist flows. Also, the Russia-Ukraine conflict had a great impact. As I know, mainly Russian visitors came to Gudauri and Bakuriani.
Everyone says that tourists mainly arrive in February, therefore, we expect that the trend will change positively and their flows will increase three or four-fold. At this point, 50% of our customers are foreign and 50% are local. We have a large number of foreign guests from Poland, Russia, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Although Georgian visitors are good, the point is that it is important to get as many tourists as possible. Otherwise, if there are no tourists, it will be very difficult for the resort.
A lot of people point out that the situation in Gudauri has become very bad after COVID-19.
I must mention that one of the biggest challenges in Gudauri is finding staff to employ. Because of this, we had to bring staff from Tbilisi, and in total, at this stage, we employ 3 people.
As for the future plans, we are planning to renew and develop the internal interior of the Gudauri branch, and it is during this period that the necessary expenses are being calculated," Kobakhidze says.
According to her, 3 months ago, the first wine bar was opened in Tbilisi, in Janshia str.4. This year, the brand plans to carry out marketing activities in order to increase the awareness of the bar both in Tbilisi and Gudauri.
Wine bar "Do" appeared on the market 3 months ago and has two branches on the market, one in Tbilisi, and the other in Gudauri.
