The sewing enterprise “Adjara Textile”, located in Bobokvati expects positive and growing indicators in 2025. As the company’s director Gia Lominadze noted in an interview with bm.ge, the two main customers of “Adjara Textile” are Nike and Adidas this year.
“We continue to actively work with them. They are stable customers,” says Lominadze, adding that they have no news in terms of customers yet.
“We expect to increase production volumes in 2025. We already know how much we will be able to sew this year. At this stage, the indicators are quite positive,” noted the head of the enterprise.
As for last year, according to Gia Lominadze, they also ended 2024 with a 10% growth, despite the fact that the main challenge of the textile industry is still the shortage of labor force, he notes, that there is a positive trend in their company in this regard.
“A more or less positive trend is observed at this stage, and I think that if this continues, 2025 will be better. This may be due to the fact that there is no longer as much outflow of people from the country as there was before. We also systematically increase salaries. An employee receives a bonus based on how long he has worked with us. That is why the main tailors who have been with us for a long time are no longer leaving, because they are earning good salaries,” he noted.
Global brands such as Nike, Puma, Adidas, New Balance, Under Armour and other companies have been cooperating with the largest clothing manufacturer in Georgia, Adjara Textiles, for many years. The garment factory was founded in 2008 by the Turkish joint-stock company “Abay Uluslararasi Tekstil Turizm ve Yatirim Tijareti”. The 50%-50% shares of the company are owned by businessmen Cemal Bilgingulluoglu and Kemal Bilgingulluoglu.
According to the management and financial report of “Adjara Textile”, the company’s revenue decreased by 26% in 2023 and amounted to 247 million GEL. Overall, “Adjara Textile” ended 2023 with a net profit of 17.4 million GEL.
