Tamar Kurtanidze, the founder of the Georgia Travel Group, says that all reservations from Israel have been canceled due to the war in Israel.
"We have tourists from Israel all year round. Relatively, their number is low in autumn and winter compared to summer. In October, we expected about 1500-2000 guests and all reservations were canceled. This is quite a big financial loss, because Israel is one of the biggest markets for us, and therefore the income is completely eliminated," he said.
As for the tours in November-December, according to Kurtanidze, the tours are not planned yet, however, as the partners of the company say, the situation is still unpredictable.
"As for diversification in other markets, we are already working, but due to the existing situation, the European market is already reduced, and Israel is a stable market for Georgia. It was a market that operated constantly, even after the pandemic, they were one of the first to move to Georgia. I think the flows will come back once minimum security measures are taken,” he says.
