Bay Leaf and Medical Plants Processing Plant Black Sea Laurus, located in Guria, village of Nigvziana, Lanchkhuti Municipality, started processing season of laurel leaves and exported 12 tons of products to Ukraine.
As the representative of the plant Mikheil Melua explains, the laurel season has just started and it is still unknown how many tons of raw materials they will be able to process in total.
"The season started a few days ago; We have already launched processing and exported 12 tons of laurel leaves to Ukraine. As for medicinal plants, we are planning to export to Europe, but we do not have any news in this direction yet,"- said Mikheil Melua.
Black Sea Laurus processed 251 tons of laurel leaves last year despite the pandemic, added a new technological line and exported 30 tons of laurel leaves to Ukraine.
GEL 60,000 was invested in the enterprise at the first stage under the state program supporting young entrepreneurs in rural area and later the company received GEL 100,000 within the frame of "preferential agro-credit".
The company buys raw materials from local farmers. The enterprise employs 24 people.
