"We have positive expectations that the IMF program will get active on time", Natia Turnava, Acting President of the National Bank, told journalists at the meeting held with Subir Lall, Deputy Director of the IMF Middle East and Central Asia
According to Natia Turnava, there is still significant progress in terms of amending and harmonizing the law.
"We are still working on the program. There are certain issues on which we have focused more. As for the law on the National Bank and strengthening of the governance structure reform, this issue has been under discussion for about 3 years. Despite the fact that the legislation changes are beyond the competence of the National Bank and require wider consideration by the executive and legislative authorities, we are making quite good progress and continue to work. In general, we have positive expectations that we will be able to activate the program on time," said Turnava.
