The founder of Hotel Coste talked about the lack of workforce. As Tamara Bagdavadze said, HoReCa left its staff alone amid the pandemic and took care of self-preservation, and after the restoration of tourism, the employees who left this business do not want to return.
"When tourism reopened after the pandemic, workforce shortage was initially observed in the HoReCa sector. Actually, we left them alone, as we had to take care of self-preservation during the pandemic. So, our staff moved to other sectors, many of them left Georgia. When the sector recovered, they distrusted us. Maybe they are a little upset that we couldn't keep them," said Tamara Bagdavadze.
The founder of Hotel Coste declared that the sector would have to make great efforts to attract new personnel.
"We have to invest to gain new staff. HoReCa sector must satisfy their new demands. They must have a sense of security that one fine day we will not tell them that they are left without salaries," Bagdavadze said.
