Gela Khanishvili, the managing partner of company "Agro 1959", believes that primary tasks must be solved in the agro sector for moving to high technologies in Georgia. This is how he answered the question asked in TV program #Redakt2 about the qualitative change of state programs, which places an emphasis on technologies.

Gela Khanishvili, based on the example of his farm, says that there are still many challenges, including lack of staff and their qualification. However, he understands the importance of the intensity of the introduction of technologies in this field.

"We have two conditions - during the communist period in Georgia, approximately 12,000 units of tractors worked, and in a certain period, this number dropped to 500. This too was out of resources and we didn't have a tractor. We have to solve the primary tasks in order to be able to move to high technologies. The topic is that when there are no tractors in Georgia, there is no growth of tractor drivers, there is no engineering... and if we demand the transition to robotic technologies, it will require an increase in the engineering staff. Gradually all this is developing... schools and colleges are improving. I know that my worker, who receives 50 GEL per day, it limits me in competition, so it should be replaced by technology in order to reduce the dependence on the labor force.

Agriculture is a field that develops many other things. A farmer who uses knowledge, chemistry, technologies, an engineer, a mechanizer... In this way, the country is given the opportunity to produce, for example, small equipment and etc", Gela Khanishvili says.
