Jams, juices, compotes and Georgian traditional sauces production company "Yame", launched in summer, 2022, is already exporting its products to Qatar and Saudi Arabia. As the founder of the company, Salome Alania told BM.GE, they met 2023 with a plan to increase productivity and expand the export market.
"We have already expanded in the Georgian market, in particular, we are represented in "Ori Nabiji", "Gurmania", "Goodwill" and "Magniti". In addition, our products are also exported and sold in Qatar and Saudi Arabia, at this stage we have sent only two containers.
According to today's data, 30% of our products are exported, while 70% is sold in the local market.
From 2023, we plan to utilize the Georgian market more and expand the export markets, at this stage we are conducting negotiations with large chain markets and the American market as well.
The demand is very high, therefore, one of the important plans is to increase productivity," said Salome Alania.
As for the challenges, Salome Alania told BM.GE that the main difficulty is access to finance and the constant increase in the price of raw materials.
"It's always difficult when you create a new product. It was the same in our case, one of the important challenges was an investment. We started production in summer, and therefore we were forced to stockpile products from the beginning, which required quite large amounts of money.
The second important challenge is the constant increase in the price of raw materials and auxiliary products, we try our best to make "Yame" products affordable and accessible to everyone, and these two factors are quite difficult to combine", - explains the founder of "Yame".
