Nikoloz Khundzakishvili, director of corporate affairs of Efes Georgia, says 2022 has been one of the best years in the beer industry, as the market fully recovered after the pandemic.
As he mentioned in an interview with Bm.Ge, in 2022 the entire beer sector grew by about 3-5% compared to 2021.
"During the pandemic, the sales volume did not decrease, but the segmentation changed. As a result, the customer switched to the economy segment. And in 2022, that segmentation was fully recovered. Among them are the economy segment and the HoReCa sector, the products consumed by tourists have increased," said Khundzakishvili, adding that the effect of the flow of migrants also had an impact on the growth.
"Tourism returns to the level of 2019, if this dynamic is recovered in 2023, then we will be less dependent on one-time migrants. Most likely, this dynamic will be recovered, which will stimulate sales," he said.
As for the results of "Efes Georgia", according to Nikoloz Khundzakishvili, 2022 was a record year in terms of production, as the company produced 100 million liters of beer and lemonade.
Efes Georgia exports beer to 25 countries, including neighboring countries, Ukraine, Belarus, EU countries, Great Britain, USA.
