“At PepsiCo, nothing is more important to us than providing safe and high-quality products to our consumers. This is why we feel compelled to address the recent order by the National Food Agency, which mandates the removal of a small batch of ultra-pasteurized milk produced by our partners in Azerbaijan,” Soplis Nobati announced on social media.
“We would like to emphasize that this product does not pose any threat to consumers; however, the agency’s resolution indicates that it may not fully comply with specific local requirements.
To address any technical discrepancies and uncertainties regarding these requirements, we are actively engaging in discussions with the relevant authorities to clarify the situation. For the utmost safety, this batch of milk will be completely removed from sale within the coming hours. Furthermore, we are suspending our cooperation with the identified Azerbaijani partner until all technical details have been resolved.
Please note that this regulation applies solely to a small quantity of ultra-pasteurized milk produced in Azerbaijan and does not impact any products manufactured at Soplis Nobati’s facilities in Georgia. Our products meet all quality and food safety standards and are fully compliant with strict international regulations.
We apologize for any confusion this situation may have caused and assure you that we will conduct a thorough and effective investigation,” the statement from Soplis Nobati concludes.
The National Food Agency reported that aflatoxin was detected in Soplis Nobati milk samples and has urged consumers not to use this milk. As a result, five samples of imported Soplis Nobati milk are being removed and sealed from the market.
