Following the meeting between retailers and the government’s “Price Commission,” Vasil Khorava, General Director of Wissol and Smart, stated that he welcomes any reduction in product prices. Speaking to journalists, he emphasized that price adjustments will occur naturally and that the purpose of current discussions is to ensure accurate and transparent price information for consumers.
Asked whether he supports the Prime Minister’s initiative, Khorava responded: “I welcome lowering prices. Prices will adjust; we are only exchanging information so that pricing is presented correctly to customers.” Journalists also questioned whether price increases were being artificially driven, to which he replied that competition is the key regulator: “If there is competition, prices will be correct. The Competition Agency is working, and we provide them with everything they require.”
Khorava clarified that the meeting did not address fuel pricing. Instead, the focus was on the retail sector and product pricing as part of an ongoing market assessment. He stressed that the company cooperates fully with authorities on any inquiries.
