The reconstruction of the transport interchange near City Mall in Tbilisi’s Saburtalo district is nearing completion. Mayor Kakha Kaladze said a new traffic scheme will be introduced in the coming days, after which municipal services will monitor traffic flows.
Kaladze said the changes aim to organize traffic, reduce conflicting maneuvers and improve pedestrian movement in the area.
He added that the city government will continue monitoring traffic after the new scheme takes effect and may make additional adjustments if necessary.
According to Kaladze, both private and public transport had previously faced traffic disruptions in the area. He also noted that there was no pedestrian access infrastructure to City Mall from the Vazha-Pshavela Avenue side, which had caused dissatisfaction among residents.
