"We will soon resume talks on free trade agreement with India," - Finance Minister Lasha Khutsishvili said at the 54th annual meeting of the Asian Development Bank.
In his speech, Lasha Khutsishvili stressed that Georgia is the only country that has a free trade regime with both China and the European Union.
"The pandemic has shown us how interdependent we are, so we should try our best not to create artificial barriers. Georgia is the only country that has a free trade regime with China, the European Union and all our neighbors. Negotiations are underway and will soon resume talks on free trade agreement with India. Now, the situation is hard there due to the pandemic, so I take this opportunity to express my support for them in the fight against the pandemic. I think international economic cooperation will become a driving force for economic recovery in the post-pandemic era. I think this direction will help us to effectively overcome the economic difficulties caused by the pandemic," - said the Minister of Finance, Lasha Khutsishvili.
