The government has identified closed spaces where it will be mandatory to wear a mask.
As Natia Mezvrishvili, the head of the governmental administration, explained at the briefing, wearing a mask will be mandatory in public and private institutions, meetings, as well as in elevators, shops, beauty salons and aesthetic medicine centers, educational spaces, transport and economic institutions.
"We have adopted a resolution determining the closed spaces, where wearing a mask will be mandatory for citizens, as well as for the employees of the institutions. Certain exceptions have been allowed for some categories of people due to their health condition and age.
As for where it is mandatory to wear a mask, we chose the closed areas with the highest risks of spreading the virus, namely: receptions of public and private institutions, meetings held in public and private institutions, institutions where it is impossible to maintain a 2-meter distance. It will also be mandatory to wear a mask in elevators, shopping malls, high-risk indoor spaces, beauty salons and aesthetic medicine centers, general education, vocational and higher education institutions, as well as public transport and taxis,"- said Natia Mezvrishvili.
