Businessman Irakli Rukhadze says sanctioning Bidzina Ivanishvili would negatively impact Georgian business. Speaking to TV Pirveli, Rukhadze argued that there is no basis for the UK to impose sanctions on the former prime minister and founder of "Georgian Dream."
“Of course, any sanctions that do not work and are brainless will certainly harm business. Sanctions do not work. I do not expect sanctions against me either. You can read many economists’ opinions, did sanctions work in Russia?! Of course not,” said Rukhadze.
According to him, tightening sanctions against Ivanishvili is unjustified:
“Why should sanctions be tightened, what did Bidzina Ivanishvili do wrong?! Why should he be fined? The foreign exchange rate has not changed, of course, where has it changed?!” Rukhadze noted.
