Giorgi Sakhokia, the newly appointed Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs in the Georgian Dream government, has disclosed his assets in a property declaration filed in April 2025. Sakhokia replaced Giorgi Butkhuzi, who had held the position since 2019.
According to the declaration, Sakhokia and his family own multiple real estate and movable assets in Tbilisi:
- Non-residential premises in Tbilisi, 133.21 sq.m., acquired through inheritance.
- Apartment in Bagebhi, 69.35 sq.m., also inherited.
The family also declared several vehicles, including three Chevrolet Corvettes and a Honda Civic registered to his wife. Bank accounts show a total balance of several thousand lari and US dollars.
Sakhokia owns a 50% stake in Fashion Goods LLC, which, according to the declaration, has not conducted any business activities. His wife, Salome Dekanosidze, is an individual entrepreneur who earned 23,372 GEL in 2024. She additionally received 7,616 USD and 12,051 GEL from a private loan.
In 2024, Sakhokia earned 54,749 GEL as an advisor at the State Care and Assistance Agency for Victims of Trafficking, while his wife received more than 49,000 GEL from managerial roles in various organizations.
Before his current appointment, Sakhokia served as Rector of the MIA Academy starting in September 2025. His prior experience includes positions in the Ministry of Defense, serving as State Representative in Guria (2021–2022), Deputy Head of the Government Administration (2020), and various administrative roles in the Ministry of Internal Affairs (2014–2019).
