The Vice-Mayor of Tbilisi, Irakli Khmaladze declares, the City Hall will make a decision in the near future, and if an agreement is reached on the conditions, the rehabilitation project of Tbilisi TV Broadcasting Tower will begin.
"As for the Tbilisi TV Broadcasting tower project, it provides the arrangement of attraction and visitor centers. About 1 year ago, the expression of interest was completed and a contract was signed with the winning company, which completed the feasibility study and presented the proposal. The City Hall will make a decision in the near future and the implementation of the project will begin if we agree on the conditions", said Irakli Khmaladze.
Kakha Kaladze announced the modernization and rehabilitation of Tbilisi historical TV Broadcasting tower in 2018. A development concept was also prepared, however, the project attracted business attention only in 2021. It seems that for 3 years, the private sector was not attracted to the idea of renewing the mast. In 2021, a company was chosen based on the expression of interest, which should load the Tbilisi mast for tourism. The company KASS GROUP has an obligation to invest USD 4 million on the site. After that, the tourist infrastructure arranged on the Tbilisi mast of KASS GROUP will be transferred under 28-year management.
