Company Nugbari, the producer of Georgian traditional sweets Churchkhela, is exporting products to the EU, US and Asia markets. The annual production capacity of this enterprise totals to 300,000 units, half of which is sold in Georgian chain supermarkets, while the rest is exported.
"We export Georgian traditional sweets to European countries, the USA, Canada, the United Arab Emirates, and Israel. The main export markets are Germany and Lithuania. The largest amount of products are brought from these countries and the amount is increasing every year. Even now, we have prepared to send up to 12,000 Churchkhelas", - said Eka Bocholishvili, founder of Nugbari.
Since the company started developing the export direction, they focus only on non-traditional markets with high purchasing power, where both partners and products are properly valued. Their main supporter in this process is USAID's agriculture program, which helps the company to create an identity and promote it internationally.
Nugbari employs more than 100 people at this stage. However, the company plans to become more extensive over the years, which is mainly aimed at exploiting new export markets.
