The GNERC published its 2021 report, which also included statistics on consumer gas prices on the European continent. According to the document, gas was cheaper only in Azerbaijan compared to Georgia, while gas tariffs were much higher in all other countries.
According to the GNERC, the average gas consumption tariff in Georgia was 55 tetri per cubic meter in 2021, the lowest tariff was in Azerbaijan and it was 28 tetri. In terms of price, Turkey was one of the least expensive country, where the cost per cubic meter was GEL 0.8; Armenia - GEL 1.06, Ukraine - GEL 1.13.
The most expensive natural gas in Europe was in Sweden, where the cost per cubic meter was GEL 5.63. In Western European countries, the average tariff ranges from GEL 2 to 4 GEL per cubic meter.
According to the GNERC, the household gas tariff in Georgia is distributed according to the components as follows: gas price - 44%; distribution price - 37%; tax - 15%; transportation - 4%.
