In 2023, the most popular protected areas for visitors were Prometheus Cave, Martvili Canyon and Sataplia.
The Agency of Protected Areas informed InterpressNews about the above in response to the requested public information.
In particular, in 2023, Prometheus Cave hosted 230,677 visitors, of which 49,917 were citizens of Georgia, and 180,760 were citizens of foreign countries. In 2023, Martvili Canyon hosted 228,998 visitors, of which 81,746 were citizens of Georgia, and 147,252 were citizens of foreign countries. Sataflia hosted 96,956 visitors in 2023, of which 69,220 were citizens of Georgia, and 27,736 were citizens of foreign countries.
As for the data of visitors to the protected areas in 2022, in this case Prometheus Cave, Martvili and Tsalka canyons were in the lead.
As for the income received from tourism services of the Agency of Protected Areas, according to the information of the Agency, the income of 2022 amounted to 8,073,100.00 GEL, and the income of 2023 amounted to 10,507,200.00 GEL.
