Gocha Chkhaidze, the managing partner of the winemaking company "Askanel", has been named a world-renowned person for his success in spreading wine culture globally. The recognition was presented to him within the framework of the Who is Who International Awards. This is an international award that recognizes outstanding people in various fields (culture, science, entrepreneurship, art, etc.). It is noteworthy that in the past, among the laureates of this award were such world-class figures as the 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama, and singer Rihanna.

As Gocha Chkhaidze stated in an interview with BM.GE, this award will significantly contribute to the growth of awareness of Georgian wine in the international arena.

“I represented my country very well. In fact, all the people who were there heard for the first time that Georgia is the cradle of wine. In addition to the presentation, I was given the opportunity to taste certain types of our wine for the audience, which was very well received. I am sure that 50% of those participants will come to Georgia, as they promised,” said Chkhaidze.

The event was held in Cyprus and was attended by representatives of various spheres of politics, culture and art. According to the managing partner of “Askaneli”, he was the only representative of a wine company who attended the event not only from Georgia, but from all over the world. According to him, this award is not only a personal success, but also a significant success for the company.

“For our company, receiving this award and recognition is very important, which will greatly promote both my company and Georgian wine. In fact, “Askaneli” is truly a leader in Georgia. We are represented in more than 30 countries on the international market and have received more than 1,000 international awards. Last year, we sold a total of 20 million bottles, which means that we are well known around the world,” he said.

According to his assessment, this success will definitely go beyond the borders of Cyprus and will contribute to the development of Georgia as a country and winemaking.
