Georgian retail chain Daily has begun its international expansion outside Georgia and has exported the brand to Uzbekistan. Daily's first supermarket opened in Tashkent, the capital city of Uzbekistan, late in March. The company began operating outside the country last year, and in December 2024, Daily Group acquired a controlling stake in the chain stores of Bi1 from the French Schiever Group. The newly opened supermarket is the Daily's 34th store in Tashkent.
Akaki Beraia, the head of the company's international project development, spoke about the details of the international success of the Daily Group in the "Business Morning".
He notes that the brand's expansion into export markets is an important stage both in the development of the company and in the globalization of the Georgian retail sector. According to him, today the company is working on the rebranding of the Bi1 store chain from Schiever Group, so that 33 new branches in Uzbekistan will be represented under the "Daily" brand by the summer.
"This is the first store under the Daily brand. We entered Uzbekistan in November, and since December, we have started transferring the existing chain. Now we have 33 stores under another brand and in parallel, we are working on the rebranding of these stores, all of which will be united under the "Daily" brand. "The rebranding process is not just about changing the name of the store, we need to change the atmosphere and standards inside, and most likely, by the summer, all these stores will be represented by the Daily brand," said Akaki Beraia, noting that the company is also looking for new locations in Uzbekistan to further develop the chain.
The company's head of international project development also notes that the retail sector in Uzbekistan lags significantly behind the Georgian retail market in terms of development, and Daily will contribute to its development as well.
