The Ministry of Economy is working on opening the season at winter resorts, Minister Natia Turanava said at a briefing at the government administration.
When asked about the winter resort season-opening, Natia Turnava said epidemiologists have a main say in this matter.
"We are not going to have a large-scale lockdown in the country. We have to manage increased cases of the infected while doing everything we can to not damage the economy and business, on the contrary, to maintain and support the recovery trend. However, there will be additional point restrictions.
As for winter resorts, we are discussing this issue, and we will make sure you're informed about it. For us, the priority, of course, is health and safety.
I hope everything will function. We have to take into account the recommendations of epidemiologists - in terms of where and when we will have these point restrictions ... because winter resorts, as well as summer resorts, are a generator of great mobility, and there are some epidemiological questions in this regard. Whether we will be able to operate the winter resorts in these conditions fully is a question," the minister said.
