According to the information provided by the National Wine Agency, Over the period of January-May 2018, 31,5 mln bottles (0,75 l) of wine were exported from Georgia to 46 countries of the world, which by 27% exceeds the figure of the same period of 2017. Within the accounting period, wine worth of 75,3 mln USD was exported, which is 36% more than the rate of similar period of last year.
Export growth is notable in Europe and Asia as well as to the traditional markets: Japan – 186% (97668), United Kingdom – 109% (45210), Czech Republic – 87% (24408), South Korea – 76% (31380), Germany – 51% (252982), Netherlands – 45% (33399), Russia – 38% (20439494), Ukraine – 33% (3149059), Poland – 33% (1300222), Kazakhstan – 32% (1379698), Lithuania – 22% (172020), Latvia – 22% (670260), Estonia – 16% (216762), Belarus – 11% (461952), etc.
The top five export countries are:Russia (20439494), Ukraine (3149059), China (2331800), Kazakhstan (1379698) and Poland (1300222).
Within the accounting period, 172 companies exported different volumes of wine.
