Winery "Kardanakhi 1888", located in the village of Kardanakhi in the Gurjaani region, is expanding its exporting markets from 2024.
As the founder of the company, Malkhaz Makhoshvili, told BMG, they are currently exporting to Italy, while negotiations are underway with Belgium, America and China.
According to him, the products on the American market are sold in HoReCa sector. Negotiations are underway with distribution companies in Belgium and the products will be sold in chain markets, as for China, it is not known at this stage where the wine will be sold.
"EU candidate status will have a significant impact on the interest from the exporting markets, while the country will become more reliable and interesting for them, which will ensure competitiveness in the market.
As for the local market, the products of "Kardanakhi 1888" are sold in wine shops, wine clubs and the HoReCa sector. It should be noted that this year's sales have increased by 20% compared to last year," Makhoshvili says.
Winery "Kardanakhi 1888" has been located in the village of Kardanakhi in Gurjaani since 2017 and is a part of the hotel "Ampelo". About 20 types of wine are produced in the winery, including 3 wines of local origin. The company sells wine in Tbilisi and Ajara. During this year, about 500,000 bottles of wine were bottled.
The company invested a total of USD 500,000 in winemaking, which was obtained with state grants, including a grant from "Enterprise Georgia".
